WHETHER YOU ARE BRAND NEW TO THE GUITAR OR ALREADY KNOW CHORDS AND A FEW RIFFS

We can help you enhance your guitar playing. We go at a pace that is comfortable for you as well as enjoyable!

The first 20 minutes of the lesson will be learning scales and exercises to improve your technique. The last 10 minutes will be used to learn a song of your choice!

ELECTRIC GUITAR CURRICULUM:

Beginning with The Blues era, you will learn about power chords, The Blues scale and arpeggios.

We will also talk about how to build a guitar solo. We will then move on to swing tunes, Bossa nova pieces and Bebop style.

ACOUSTIC GUITAR CURRICULUM:

Whether it be classical, folk or pop guitar, we’ve got you covered!

We will begin by learning basic chord shapes and progressions, along with different strumming patterns.

This lesson also includes finger-picking techniques and note reading.

BANJO:

Everyone loves a great banjo riff.

We will start with the string names, basic chord shapes
and fingerings. We’ll cover strumming patterns and melodies. Eventually, you’ll move on to finger-picking patterns.

If you are looking for a unique feel-good upbeat instrument, then the banjo is definitely for you!

BASS GUITAR:

The bass is the foundation of any song.

We’ll begin by reviewing the string names and finger
exercises to help get a rich tone out of each note, as well as strengthen your fingers.

We teach both finger-picking and playing with a pick. Whatever your genre, we’ve got you covered!

We teach all genres- from punk rock to funk to swinging bass lines.

UKULELE:

Beginner ukulele students can expect to work on chords, simple songs, and melodies, sight-reading and theory.

Our instructors balance
musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson presents a new technical challenge or theory concept, and ends with something fun, such as your favorite riff or song.

We use a variety of ukulele method books, and encourage students to bring their smartphones to their lesson
to learn their favorite tunes.

What People Are Saying

We have been so happy with our 11 year old sons guitar lessons, he is loving music and is so excited for his lessons each week. His instructor has been so patient. They have been willing to work around schedule changes. We would highly recommend Sandy Music Academy.

MEGAN BRAMMER / parent

We have had other piano teachers, but we like Piano Masters Studio best. We are pleased with the results and progress our students are getting through Piano Masters Studio. We have had two other piano instructors, and even when Piano Masters moved to a location across the valley from us, we returned to her. It is worth the drive!

KRISTIN HILLMAN / parent

Kristen is the most patient and amazing teacher ever. She is a friend to my kids and treats them like her own.

MARISA HERNANDEZ / parent

We love Addie! She is so great with our daughter and makes learning fun. Our daughter has learned a lot from her so far on how to use her voice properly and sing with confidence. Highly recommend Sandy Music Academy!

NICOLE PETERSON
