Violin, viola, cello, and double bass are the instruments in the string family.
You find one of these instruments behind the scenes – or in the forefront – of almost every genre of music. They are admired for being the closest to resembling the human voice; and, they each have a long history in many styles of music- from Baroque to Bluegrass and Heavy Metal to Hip Hop.
Each one has its own long list of compositions devoted to it.
It’s no wonder so many people usually jot down “learn to play the violin” on their bucket list.
If you are on the fence with your decision to learn a string instrument...
Here are 5 reasons why you should finally decide to learn:
People of all ages, cultures and various circumstances pick up a string instrument and achieve wonderful things on them. It is never too late!
With the spoken word we have pitch, timbre, volume, vocabulary and other characteristics- language will vary from person-to-person. Music is the same, except it’s a universal language.
Music is about how you, as an individual, will learn to express yourself. In what way will music replace words in your life and help you to express a memory, an emotion, a desire or a need?
Both children and adults improve their fine motor skills when learning a string instrument. For children, it helps to develop motor functions. For adults, it can awaken and strengthen them- bringing new life to neglected areas of the body.
For both children and adults, violin and viola, as well as the larger instruments, teach awareness of one’s body and posture. Furthermore, they increase dexterity, coordination, and strength for people with weaker joints.
We have had other piano teachers, but we like Piano Masters Studio best. We are pleased with the results and progress our students are getting through Piano Masters Studio. We have had two other piano instructors, and even when Piano Masters moved to a location across the valley from us, we returned to her. It is worth the drive!
Great teachers. 👍🏼
Easy to work with.
We love Addie! She is so great with our daughter and makes learning fun. Our daughter has learned a lot from her so far on how to use her voice properly and sing with confidence. Highly recommend Sandy Music Academy!
We have been extremely satisfied with Piano Masters and have seen our son learn the piano very well. We have been with Piano Masters for 2 years now and the teacher's are friendly and do their best to help your children flourish. I definitely would recommend.
I have been amazed at my daughter’s progress in her first year of piano lessons at Piano Masters. Kristen is so patient and has a great way of making the lessons fun and with variety. There are monthly practice incentives and even sometimes ice cream! Communication is great, with weekly emails to know what my daughter is working on. It makes all the difference to have a teacher who loves music and teaching. I would definitely recommend.
My son has enjoyed taking piano lessons, and has learned a lot over the last year. We are very pleased. 🙂
